In this segment of Stamped & Settled we go back to Germany to meet our newest exchange student, Benjamin Noel Hauck! Last time we visited, we talked to Belle and Heidi about their stay. It looks like they must’ve spread the word because Ben is staying until the end of the school year! He’s participating in the year-long program where he spent his first semester at Savanna High School, but I think we can all agree that he upgraded his second semester by choosing Anaheim as his alma mater!
Ben came from Munich, Germany. Just like last time, he confirmed that the weather is much different than sunny California. So if you think the rain is bad, think about the ice they’re layering up for over there! Ben did say however that he misses the healthy food, apparently it’s just as good but not as greasy as American. At least he can agree that the people are “way nicer,” Disneyland is fun and the beaches are beautiful!
As previously mentioned, he spent his first semester at Savanna High School. There weren’t many differences to mention, but he did say that it was definitely smaller than our large campus and student body. Luckily, he’s felt very welcomed since he transferred which we think speaks volumes about Anaheim’s sense of community. We’re glad that he’s had such a positive experience so far! He told us that while he’s here he wants to “grow as a person” so we hope that our campus’s friendly community can inspire him to spread a little more kindness into the heart of Germany. He also said that he wants to show off his new American accent to his friends over there, so hopefully with the time he has left California can surf its way into his life!
It seems like the Californian weather and Anaheim compassion has a way of warming up our German friends! Ben told us that he’ll miss the beachy atmosphere and “all of you guys” the most! We hope that he continues to enjoy his stay here and explores the U.S. as much as he can before it’s time to say goodbye!

En este segmento de “Estampados y establecidos” volvemos a Alemania para conocer a nuestro nuevo estudiante de intercambio, ¡Benjamin Noel Hauck! La última vez que los visitamos, hablamos con Belle y Heidi sobre su estancia. Parece que corrieron la voz, ¡porque Ben se queda hasta el final del año escolar! Participa en el programa anual donde pasó su primer semestre en la preparatoria Savanna, pero creo que todos coincidimos en que mejoró su segundo semestre al elegir Anaheim como su alma máter.
Ben vino de Munich, Alemania. Al igual que la última vez, confirmó que el clima es muy diferente al de la soleada California. Así que si creen que la lluvia es mala, ¡imagínense el hielo que se están abrigando por allá! Ben, sin embargo, comentó que extraña la comida saludable; al parecer, es igual de buena, pero no tan grasosa como la estadounidense. ¡Al menos puede estar de acuerdo en que la gente es “mucho más amable,” Disneylandia es divertida y las playas son hermosas!
Como se mencionó anteriormente, pasó su primer semestre en la preparatoria Savanna. No hubo muchas diferencias que mencionar, pero comentó que definitivamente era más pequeño que nuestro amplio campus y alumnado. Por suerte, se ha sentido muy bienvenido desde su traslado, lo que creemos que dice mucho del sentido de comunidad de Anaheim. ¡Nos alegra que haya tenido una experiencia tan positiva hasta ahora! Nos comentó que mientras esté aquí quiere “crecer como persona,” así que esperamos que el amable alumnado de nuestro campus lo inspire a compartir un poco más de amabilidad con el corazón de Alemania. También comentó que quiere mostrar su nuevo acento estadounidense a sus amigos de allá, así que ojalá, con el tiempo que le queda, California pueda surfear en su vida.
¡Parece que el clima californiano y la compasión de Anaheim tienen una forma de animar a nuestros amigos alemanes! Ben nos dijo que extrañará muchísimo el ambiente playero y a “todos ustedes.” ¡Esperamos que siga disfrutando de su estancia aquí y explore Estados Unidos tanto como pueda antes de que llegue la hora de despedirse!
