The Anaheim High School’s School Of Rock club is a dynamic student organization dedicated to fostering a love for rock music, artistic exploration, and musical skill development. It provides a space for students to share their passion and grow as musicians. They have practices everyday Monday-Friday from 3:30pm-5:00pm.
The purpose of this club is to bring students together to explore, play, and share their passion for rock music. The club fosters a supportive environment for students interested in various aspects of rock music.
School of Rock provides students of all grades/ages an exciting and engaging music education experience, which include bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. It allows them to explore rock music and foster musical proficiency and confidence.
The club focuses on bringing students together for musical collaboration and potentially performance-based opportunities. They also perform live on stage in front of all our AHS staff and students. As noted by similar organizations, this type of club typically fosters a sense of community, teamwork, and creative expression.
Besides that I got the chance to interview Jaime Palafox (Junior here at AHS) about School of Rock and this is what he said:
1. Why do you like School of Rock?
“I like it because I get to play my favorite instrument and get to show people my talent.”
2. Are you excited to perform in the future? Why?
“I am excited because people will remember us performing and our performance could spark and make people fall in love (with music).”
3. What would you like to say to AHS students about School of Rock?
“You get to play something you like and people look up to you and you get to inspire people to get out of their comfort zone.”
4. Why do you think they should join School of Rock?
“It is a very fun experience and you get to learn new things and make new friends.”
Another person I got to interview was Angel Isidro (Senior here at AHS) and this is what he said:
- Why do you like School of Rock?
“I like School of Rock because it gave me a chance to perform without having to join a class for it and because the people in the club are really supportive and encouraging.”
2. Are you excited to perform in the future? Why?
“Yes I’m excited to perform because people there will be experiencing something that they might’ve been looking forward to for a while and knowing I can help make their night better by playing music live for them since a lot of people like that just makes me happy.”
3. What would you like to say to AHS students about School of Rock?
“I would say that they should join because being part of the school of rock is a great way to be able to perform and show how talented you are with an instrument.”
4. Why do you think they should join School of Rock?
“The environment is really fun to be around and people are always so nice. Even if you mess up, this club can lift you back up and help you.”
El club School of Rock de Anaheim High School es una organización estudiantil dinámica dedicada a fomentar el amor por la música rock, la exploración artística y el desarrollo de habilidades musicales. Ofrece un espacio para que los estudiantes compartan su pasión y crezcan como músicos. Sus ensayos se llevan a cabo todos los días, de lunes a viernes, de 3:30 pm a 5:00 pm.
El propósito de este club es reunir a los estudiantes para explorar, tocar y compartir su pasión por la música rock. El club fomenta un entorno de apoyo para los estudiantes interesados en diversos aspectos de la música rock.

“Me gusta porque tengo la oportunidad de tocar mi instrumento favorito y enseñar a las personas mi talento.”

“Sí lo estoy porque la gente nos recordará y nuestra actuación podría encender la chispa y hacer que la gente se enamore (de la música).”
3. ¿Qué te gustaría decirle a los estudiantes de AHS sobre School of Rock?
“Tienes la oportunidad de tocar algo que te guste, la gente te admira y logras inspirar a otros a salir de su zona de confort.”
4. ¿Por qué crees que deberían unirse a School of Rock?
“ Es una experiencia muy divertida, y tienes la oportunidad de aprender cosas nuevas y hacer nuevos amigos.”
Otra persona que pude entrevistar fue Angel Isidro (Senior aquí en AHS) sobre School of Rock y esto es lo que nos dijo:
- ¿Por qué te gusta el club School of Rock?
“Me gusta School of Rock porque me dio la oportunidad de actuar sin tener que inscribirme en una clase para ello, y porque la gente del club es realmente solidaria y alentadora.”
2. ¿Estás emocionado por tocar en el futuro? ¿Por qué?
“Sí, me entusiasma actuar en el futuro, ya que la gente que estará allí vivirá una experiencia que, tal vez, haya estado esperando desde hace tiempo, saber que puedo contribuir a mejorar su noche tocando música en vivo para ellos, algo que a mucha gente le gusta, simplemente me hace feliz.”
3. ¿Qué te gustaría decirle a los estudiantes de AHS sobre School of Rock?
“Yo diría que deberían unirse, porque formar parte de School of Rock es una excelente manera de poder actuar y demostrar lo talentosos que son con un instrumento.”
4. ¿Por qué crees que deberían unirse a School of Rock?
“El ambiente es realmente divertido y la gente es siempre muy amable. Incluso si te equivocas, este club puede levantarte el ánimo y ayudarte.”
