The sound of clashing swords and cheering crowds filled the arena as seniors from across the Anaheim Union High School District gathered at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament for a night of excitement. With knights competing in dramatic jousts and students sharing a classic roasted chicken dinner, the event gave seniors the chance to celebrate their final months of high school together. For many students, the trip is more than just a show, it is a memorable experience shared with friends before graduation.
Each school has a different way of buying tickets, some were able to buy early in the school year with a Senior Package, others were able to buy it the week of the event. Magnolia High School had a Senior Package or a $50 fee, Anaheim High School only had the Senior Package for this year, and Kennedy High School had a Senior Package or a $48 fee.
As a senior myself this night was so exciting and fun. I met up with my friends, we sat together and had some laughs. The moment you get there you might be a little confused about the check in process and seating. After you wait for your party, check in, and get seated, you see all of the other schools who joined the event. All the schools start to chant and get riled up which create this crazy atmosphere.
One of the seniors I interviewed said it was very exciting and said she didn’t expect to have to eat with her hands, so it was indeed a new experience for her. When I was with my friends they both were very surprised and we laughed about it. I came prepared and brought some utensils for us, they were very much surprised. Another student who went also said that it was something they really enjoyed and they will remember it for years to come. Along with other students I asked, they mostly had a new and different experience with their friends.
This event is one of the many activities left for the senior class. Coming up we have Grad Nite at Disneyland, Senior Sunset, Grad Walk, Prom, and lastly Graduation. With many events coming up, most seniors are very excited and ready for the end of the school year, while others are still trying to cherish every single moment of high school.
El sonido de espadas chocando y las multitudes animando llenó la arena mientras los estudiantes de último año de todo el Distrito Escolar de Anaheim Union High School se reunían en Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament para una noche llena de emoción. Con caballeros compitiendo en dramáticas justas y estudiantes compartiendo una clásica cena de pollo asado, el evento les dio a los seniors la oportunidad de celebrar sus últimos meses de preparatoria juntos. Para muchos estudiantes, el viaje es más que solo un espectáculo; es una experiencia memorable compartida con amigos antes de la graduación.
Cada escuela tiene una manera diferente de comprar los boletos. Algunos pudieron comprarlos temprano en el año escolar con un Senior Package, mientras que otros pudieron comprarlos la semana del evento. Cómo senior yo misma, esta noche fue muy emocionante y divertida. En el momento en que llegas, puede que estés un poco confundido con el proceso de registro y de asignación de asientos. Después de esperar a tu grupo, registrarte y sentarte, puedes ver a todas las otras escuelas que también asistieron al evento. Todas las escuelas empiezan a cantar, gritar y animarse entre sí, lo que crea una atmósfera increíblemente energética.
Una de las seniors que entrevisté dijo que fue muy emocionante y que no esperaba tener que comer con las
manos, por lo que definitivamente fue una experiencia nueva para ella. Otra estudiante que también asistió comentó que fue algo que realmente disfrutó y que recordará por muchos años. Junto con otros estudiantes a quienes pregunté, la mayoría tuvo una experiencia nueva y diferente con sus amigos.
Este evento es una de las muchas actividades que le quedan a la clase de último año. Próximamente tenemos Grad Nite en Disneyland, Senior Sunset, Grad Walk, Prom y, por último, la graduación. Con tantos eventos por venir, la mayoría de los seniors está muy emocionada y lista para el final del año escolar, mientras que otros aún intentan aprovechar y valorar cada momento de la preparatoria.
