Are you wondering what new club is coming to Anaheim High School? Well I have good news for you! Black Student Union or BSU is a new club coming to Anaheim High School. This club offers the experience of experiencing African American culture. I interviewed one of the members to know more about future events and meetings. 

So what is Black Student Union and why should you join? BSU is a great space where anyone of any ethnic background can experience and celebrate black culture. This club is a great way to know about more cultures, adding to the diversity of Anaheim! One of the first club members, Andrew Dixon explains the importance of acknowledging black culture and why it was brought to Anaheim. He explains, “I wanted to bring BSU so that myself and others like me could have a place to be safe. It’s important to show black culture because it’s very influential in our country and media.”

Knowing the importance of African American  culture, I interviewed other students to know about their opinions on the new club coming to Anaheim. Sophomore at Anaheim High School, Erick Osorio said, “I think it’s absolutely phenomenal that they are adding this club [BSU].”

Having a new club at Anaheim showcasing African American culture is one of the many ways diversity is being showcased here at our school. Diversity is very important for a society to advance and this is clearly being demonstrated here at Anaheim High School. ¿Te preguntas qué nuevo club llegará a la Preparatoria Anaheim? ¡Pues tengo buenas noticias! La Unión de Estudiantes Afroamericanos (BSU por sus siglas en inglés) es un nuevo club que se une a la preparatoria de Anaheim. Este Club ofrece la oportunidad de experimentar la cultura afroamericana. Entrevisté a uno de los miembros para saber sobre los próximos eventos y reuniones. 

¿Entonces, qué es  BSU y por qué deberías unirte? BSU es un espacio donde cualquiera persona independientemente de su origen étnico,  puede experimentar y celebrar la cultura afro-americana. ¡Este club es una excelente manera de conocer otras culturas y enriquecer la diversidad de Anaheim! Andrew Dixon, uno de los miembros del club, explica la importancia de reconocer la cultura afroamericana y porque el club se creó. Explica, “Quise crear BSU para que tanto yo como otros estudiantes tuviéramos un espacio seguro. Es importante visibilizar la cultura afroamericana porque tiene mucha influencia en nuestro país y en los medios de comunicación.”

Conociendo la importancia de la cultura afroamericana, entreviste a otros estudiantes para conocer sus opiniones sobre el nuevo club que llega a Anaheim. Erick Osorio, estudiante del segundo año de la preparatoria Anaheim dijo, “Me parece absolutamente fenomenal que vayan añadir este club [BSU].”

Tener un nuevo club en Anaheim que promueva la cultura afroamericana es una de las muchas maneras en que la diversidad se manifiesta en nuestra escuela. La diversidad es fundamental para el progreso de una sociedad, y esto se demuestra claramente aquí en la preparatoria Anaheim.
