Have you ever wanted to explore your crocheting skills? Well then, we have something just for you! Look no further than Stitch by Stitch. This is a student organization here on our campus. They focus on community bonding through crocheting.
Stitch by Stitch is a great club for students because it is a way to explore interests and meet new people. This club is perfect for anyone because you can develop skills as well as just relax while crocheting. Stitch by Stitch is all about creativity and community. On their Instagram, they post all about their events and make crocheting tutorials! The club helps bring the community together by allowing students to experience crocheting or sewing to make great things for peers and teachers. They have many amazing events which demonstrate this! According to Hazelle Urieta (co-president of Stitch by Stitch), “We recently made bookmarks for senior citizens, and it was able to bring students together to show their creations and try new patterns and designs, while also connecting with elders by creating something for them.”
This is one of Anaheim´s most recent clubs, as it was formed a little more than a year ago! This club was formed by a short remark Hazelle had about crocheting to her friends, which ended up turning into something greater. Urieta explains, “I decided to make Stitch by Stitch because it was a topic I had brought up with my friend about wanting to crochet more, and her practically being an expert. She had shared how she wanted to create a club where people could create crafts, and I couldn’t agree more.” Soon, a small group of friends was able to make this club a reality.
It truly is inspiring that Hazelle and the rest of the cabinet were able to create this club. It truly shows the endless possibilities we have here at Anaheim High School. So please join Stitch by Stitch for their next event at the Serverthon on January 24th. They will be teaming up with NHS or National Honor Society to sew apples for the staff of Anaheim. “If you are looking for a club that allows you to try something new, challenge yourself, and create a project you feel proud of, join Stitch by Stitch, where you will grow as a creative person!!” (Uriteta’s final remarks).

Este es uno de los clubes más recientes de Anaheim, ¡ya que se formó hace poco más de un año! Este club surgió a raíz de un comentario casual que Hazelle hizo a sus amigas sobre el ganchillo, que terminó convirtiéndose en algo mucho más grande. Urieta explica: “Decidí crear Stitch by Stitch porque era un tema que había comentado con mi amiga, ya que quería tejer más y ella era prácticamente una experta. Me contó que le gustaría crear un club donde la gente pudiera hacer manualidades y estuve totalmente de acuerdo.” Pronto, un pequeño grupo de amigas logró hacer realidad este club.
Es realmente inspirador que Hazelle y el resto del consejo estudiantil hayan podido crear este club. Esto demuestra las infinitas posibilidades que tenemos aquí en la Escuela Preparatoria de Anaheim. Así que por favor, únanse a Stitch by Stitch en su próximo evento en el Servathon, el 24 de enero. Colaborarán con la Sociedad Nacional de Honor (NHS) para coser manzanas de tela para el personal de Anaheim. “Si buscan un club que les permita probar algo nuevo, superarse entre sí mismos y crear un proyecto del que se sientan orgullosos, únanse a Stitch by Stitch, ¡donde crecerán como personas creativas!” (Palabras finales de Urieta).
