Everyone has dreams that they hope to pursue one day, dreams so important and exciting that you’d do anything to make them come true. For some those dreams are small, and for others they’re big and life changing. For instance, Coach Osorio’s dream has always been to inspire and guide young athletes to their full potential. She quotes, “As a high school and college athlete, water polo was my safe space. It was where I felt like I belonged, surrounded by teammates who became like family. The sport taught me so much about hard work, teamwork, and believing in myself. After I finished playing, I started officiating games… From there, coaching just felt like the next step.” 

    Through hard work, dedication, and genuine love for the sport, she has turned that dream into reality. Coach Osorio does such an amazing job at leading the girls water polo team here at AHS that they received the title of the CIF champions of 2025. Coach Osorio’s incredible coaching, motivation, and team work helped guide the girls win CIF. Coach Osorio’s response is, “When our girls won CIF, I honestly felt so proud and emotional. It was such a special moment. So many of our girls started from scratch, learning how to swim competitively before they even played water polo… That championship was so much more than just winning a game. It was about trusting the process, putting in the work, and supporting one another every step of the way.” Our 2024-2025 girls season water polo team made history by being the first ever women’s team to win CIF at Anaheim High School, all led by Coach Osorio and her big dreams. 

    This year she guided the boys’ water polo team all the way to an undefeated league championship. She quotes, “This year going down undefeated as league champions meant so much. It showed that we don’t give up, no matter what. We keep pushing for greatness. The growth in the boys, not just athletes but as people, makes me so proud.”

     Her influence doesn’t stop at the pool. On top of all her amazing accomplishments outside of school, in school, and in the aquatics program, she’s actively involved in the community. She is always encouraging others and spreading positivity. No matter how busy she is, Coach Osorio never fails to wear a smile on her face, motivating everyone around her to dream big and work hard just like she does.

    Todos tienen sueños que esperan perseguir algún día, sueños tan importantes y emocionantes que harían cualquier cosa para hacerlos realidad. Para algunos, esos sueños son pequeños, y para otros son grandes y transformadores. Por ejemplo, el sueño de la entrenadora Osorio siempre ha sido inspirar y guiar a los jóvenes atletas para que alcancen su máximo potencial. Ella cita, “Como atleta en la preparatoria y en la universidad, el waterpolo era mi lugar seguro. Era donde sentía que pertenecía, rodeada de compañeras que se convirtieron en familia. El deporte me enseñó muchísimo sobre el trabajo duro, el trabajo en equipo y creer en mí misma. Después de que terminé de jugar, empecé a oficiar partidos… A partir de ahí, ser entrenadora simplemente se sintió como el siguiente paso.”

    A través del trabajo duro, la dedicación y un amor genuino por el deporte, ella ha convertido ese sueño en realidad. La entrenadora Osorio hizo un trabajo increíble dirigiendo al equipo femenil de waterpolo aquí en AHS que recibieron el título de campeonas de CIF del 2025. El increíble entrenamiento, motivación y trabajo en equipo de la entrenadora Osorio ayudaron a guiar a las chicas a ganar CIF. La respuesta de la entrenadora Osorio fue, “Cuando nuestras chicas ganaron CIF, honestamente me sentí tan orgullosa y emocional. Fue un momento muy especial. Muchas de nuestras chicas empezaron desde cero, aprendiendo a nadar competitivamente antes incluso de jugar waterpolo… Ese campeonato fue muchísimo más que ganar un juego. Se trató de confiar en el proceso, esforzarse y apoyarse mutuamente en cada paso del camino.” Nuestro equipo femenil de waterpolo de la temporada 2024-2025 hizo historia al ser el primer equipo femenil en ganar CIF en Anaheim High School, todo liderado por la entrenadora Osorio y sus grandes sueños.

    Este año ella guió al equipo masculino de waterpolo a un campeonato de liga invicto. Ella cita, “Este año terminar invictos como campeones de la liga significó muchísimo. Demostró que no nos rendimos, no importa qué pase. Seguimos esforzándonos por la grandeza. El crecimiento de los chicos, no solo como atletas sino como personas, me llena de orgullo.”

    Su influencia no se detiene en la piscina. Además de todos sus increíbles logros fuera de la escuela, dentro de la escuela y en el programa acuático, participa activamente en la comunidad. Siempre está animando a los demás y difundiendo positividad. No importa que tan ocupada está, la entrenadora Osorio nunca deja de llevar una sonrisa en el rostro, motivando a todos a su alrededor a soñar en grande y trabajar duro, tal como ella lo hace.
