If it’s your first time visiting Qamaria Coffee, you’ll feel welcomed the moment you walk in, greeted by the staff and a cozy atmosphere. You’ll often see people working on assignments, or perhaps students from the nearby Fullerton Community College or simply friends catching up on life over a cup of coffee.
Two drinks I highly recommend trying are the Iced Caramel Macchiato, perfect if you need an energy boost to power through the rest of your day and prefer a smooth, softer flavor. The moment I tried it, all the other places I’ve ever been to were out of the picture. It doesn’t compare. If you prefer the opposite, something with a bolder, stronger taste, try the Mocha Frappuccino. Although the frappuccino isn’t listed on their standard menu, the staff are happy to make it for you anyway. I really appreciated this gesture when I came in and asked them. Usually, when you visit a coffee shop and ask for something not on the menu, they simply turn you down, even if they likely have all the necessary ingredients on hand. But they were more than welcoming to do it for me.
Qamaria Coffee was founded by two men with a deep passion for coffee, Hatem and Munif. As co-founders, they sought a way to share this passion with the world by sourcing coffee beans from Yemen. Since it is a country currently in war, the situation has taken a heavy toll on both its people and its economy. With that being said they work directly with local farmers who continue to work around the difficult circumstances they have to face. The founders aimed to incorporate traditional Yemeni brewing techniques to preserve the authentic flavors of the region, specifically those of its various villages, each of which have their own unique method of preparing coffee. I actually got to see this myself when I went. It wasn’t me who ordered the drinks but the table across from me. I got to see the coffee pot and glass cups they use for certain coffees. That looks like it definitely enriches the experience when you drink the coffee and the personal touch from where the coffee comes from.

Si es tu primera vez visitando el café Qamaria al entrar te sientes bienvenido por los trabajadores y un ambiente acogedor, algunas veces hay personas trabajando en sus tareas porque cerca de ahi esta el colegio comunitario de Fullerton, o simplemente amigos que se están alcanzando en su vida tomando un café en la tranquilidad.
Dos de las bebidas que recomendó al ir es si es que quieres algo para que tengas energía para el resto de tu día y que tenga un sabor suave al tomarlo es el Caramel Macchiato frío que sirven. Al momento que lo tomé, noté una diferencia de los otros lugares que he ido por una bebida igual y no se puede comparar su sabor. Pero si te gusta lo opuesto y quieres algo más fuerte en sabor debes de ordenar el Mocha Frappuccino. No está en el menú que dan pero te hacen el favor de hacerlo de todos modos y eso me encantó de parte de ellos porque usualmente cuando vas a un lugar y no lo tienen nomás te dicen que no, aunque a lo mejor tienen los ingredientes para hacerlo.
El establecimiento Qamaria fue hecho por dos hombres apasionados por el café. Hatem y Munif ambos siendo co-fundadores ellos querían encontrar una manera para compartirlo con el resto del mundo al usar granos de café de Yemen. Es un lugar que sigue en guerra lo cual ha afectado a su gente y su economía. Por eso colaboran con agricultores que trabajan duro sin importar las circunstancias difíciles que se encuentran. Ellos también querían incorporar las diferentes técnicas que usan ahí originalmente para mantener el sabor auténtico de Yemen y de los pueblos porque cada uno tiene su manera específica de hacer su café. De hecho, pude verlo yo mismo cuando fui. No fui yo quien pidió las bebidas, sino la mesa de enfrente. Pude ver la cafetera y las tazas de vidrio que utilizan para ciertos cafés, eso daba la impresión de que, sin duda, enriquece la experiencia al beber el café y un toque personal de dónde viene el café.
