Senior Season: Girls’ Soccer

Saturday, February 12, 2022, Anaheim High School Lost 4-2 in the first round of CIF to Sage Hill. Senior Ashley Leon spoke about the loss “It’s heartbreaking; knowing that last game might be my last ever is very saddening to me. A lot of other seniors have the same sad feeling as me, but because of this, some might pursue it in college”.

Ashley Leon played right midfielder and had been on the team since her freshman year. “I played two years on the JV team as the captain. My junior and senior year, I played varsity” This season, girls soccer went 13-6 overall and-

10-1 in orange league ending in 1st becoming orange league champs. Some of the scores ended in (7-0) against Magnolia and (7-0) against Century, demonstrating the team’s dominance and strong team chemistry. When asked about the team’s success, “I owe the success to the team as a whole; without the determination and support from one another, we wouldn’t have gotten as far as we did.”

She also spoke about college sports “I’m thinking about college sports, but I don’t think I will because balancing a sport and your major is very difficult.” With that, some advice for future athletes “Give your 100% in training, in games and always become a better version of yourself. Never give up on yourself even when others give up on you”- Ashley
