On October 12, Netflix released “The Curious Creations of Christine Mcconnell” a brand new series premiering Christine Mcconnell, a wickedly talented baker, with a passion for creating creepy treats.

The show has a total of 6 episodes, each being 27 minutes long. The show focuses on the main character Christine and her monster friends: Rose, an “undead” raccoon, Rankle, a mummified cat, and Edgar a werewolf. Christine also has some human friends including Christine’s serial killer boyfriend, Norman, her “undead” grandmother, and her ghost friend.

In every episode, Christine bakes incredible treats for her friends such as a cake replica of her own house, an edible head ornament, spider caramel treats, eyeball chocolate chip cookies, and many more creepy treats. The first 10 minutes of each episode focuses on Christine’s extraordinary treats, however, each episode has a storyline. Be it with episodes with Christine scolding her monster friends for attempting to kill their neighbor, or Christine preparing to go on a date, the show will perfectly set you in the Halloween mood.

But who is Christine Mcconnell?  Christine gained her popularity from her unique vintage style and her incredibly detailed desserts. She started her Instagram page in 2013. Her first post demonstrated her talented baking skills; it was her first attempt baking a spooky dessert. Mcconnell has a total of 414k followers and 630 posts on her Instagram page.

On March 22, 2016, Mcconnel published her own cookbook, Deceptive Desserts: A Lady’s Guide to Baking Bad!. The book consists of a variety of creepy desserts; ranging from Frankenstein’s head to kitten cannolis. Although her recipes require time and dedication, Mcconnell assures each recipe is worth it in the end.

“The Curious Creations of Christine Mcconnell” is Mcconnell’s first-ever acting role. She plays the protagonist in this new Netflix show, which has gained major popularity with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
