For today’s article, I will be talking about teacher Mrs. King. Mrs. King has been at Anaheim High School for 26 years, beginning in the year 2000. Throughout her time at the school, she has taught a variety of English and theater courses. Currently, she is the 10th grade Puente teacher, as well as the Drama, Advanced Drama, and Musical Theater teacher.
Mrs. King has made a lasting impact on many students’ education over the years. In her Puente class, students are able to read plays and later watch the productions she puts on through her drama and musical theater classes. Her skills go far beyond simply teaching. Her main focus is making sure her students come first by regularly checking in on them and supporting them both academically and personally. She truly cares about her students and their success.
Alongside directing the drama and musical theater programs, Mrs. King also helps plan the school talent show. She allows her drama leadership team to organize the event while she serves as a liaison between the students, performers, and staff members who help make the event successful. Her drama and musical theater classes have also performed at several schoolwide events, including the Honors Theater and Dance Festival, Steam-a-palooza, Open House, Back to School Night, and many more. Most notably, Mrs. King is known for putting on spectacular plays and musicals. Many of her students have won awards for their performances in the productions she has directed. Mrs. King also encourages creativity and leadership by allowing her Advanced Drama students to direct their own scenes. Mrs. King has done an amazing job encouraging her students to pursue theater beyond high school. Some of her students will be committing to colleges for theatrical arts and musical theater.
