In recent years something that has been looked down upon got very popular – which is thrifting. Thrifting was a way people got clothes for cheap. Some people even found dope vintage pieces with no rush to resell them. Now thrifting is a worm hole full of people who buy vintage clothing just to resell at a 20x mark up. Thrifting is now trendy with Tik Tok videos with “thrift hauls.” Also people making the Goodwill bins sound like the spot where all vintage clothing is but in reality it’s a stink run down place where some bins get pushed out and people wait for the next bin that has the leftover clothing from goodwill with a 5% chance of finding something good.
A great place where people could find cool clothes without wanting to resell and wait for the next bin is the Colonist Closet. It is an Anaheim Highschool room where kids can go to get their next fit. The following is an interview with avid thrifter Dylan Vasquez and his experience with thrifting at the colonial closet and outside thrift stores.

“I’d rate it a 8/10 since it felt fresh and clam.” -Dylan
“What about compared to other thrift stores?” -me
“ It was way better since i was able to find a sick drippy fit.”- Dylan
My personal experience is that I liked the no pressure experience of trying to beat people to the next cool piece and just looking around. In conclusion, the Colonist Closet is a fun way to find some drip.
En los últimos años algo que antes era mal visto se volvió muy popular – que es comprar ropa usada (thrifting). El thrifting era una forma que la gente conseguía ropa barata. Algunas personas hasta encontraban piezas vintage bien chidas sin apuro de revenderlas. Ahora el thrifting es como un hoyo lleno de gente que compra ropa vintage solo para revenderla con un precio como 20 veces más caro. El thrifting ahora es tendencia por videos de Tik Tok como “thrift hauls.” También hay gente que hace ver los Goodwill bins como el lugar donde esta toda la ropa vintage pero en realidad es un lugar feo y huele mal donde sacan botes de ropa y la gente espera el siguiente con ropa sobrante con como un 5% oportunidad de encontrar algo bueno.
Un lugar bueno donde la gente puede encontrar ropa chida sin querer revenderla ni esperar el siguiente bote es el Colonist Closet. Es un salón en la escuela Anaheim donde los estudiantes pueden ir a buscar su próximo outfit. Mi experiencia personal es que me gustó porque no había presión de ganarle a otros para agarrar la mejor pieza y solo mirar tranquilo. En conclusión el Colonist Closet es una forma divertida de encontrar buen estilo.
