Historia

   ¿Cómo empezó Disneyland? Disneyland comenzó con la visión de Walt Disney, inspirada al ver a sus hijas en un carrusel en Griffith Park. Imaginó un lugar mágico donde las familias pudieran divertirse juntas, lo que llevó a su gran inauguración en Anaheim, California, el 17 de julio de 1955, como el primer parque de atracciones temático del mundo. La cadena de televisión ABC proporcionó financiación crucial a cambio de un programa de televisión semanal sobre la creación del parque. El parque temático comenzó a construirse en 160 acres de antiguos naranjales en Anaheim, California. El equipo de Imagineers de Walt desarrolló el diseño único del parque, creando tierras temáticas como Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland y Tomorrowland.    Entrevisté a un adolescente al que le encanta ir a Disneyland con mucha frecuencia. Se llama Anthony Martinez. Para la entrevista, le hice tres preguntas: ¿Qué edad tenías cuando fuiste a Disneyland por primera vez? ¿Qué sabes sobre Disneyland? ¿Y con qué frecuencia vas a Disneyland? Me respondió que ha ido a Disneyland desde que tenía 11 años y que ahora tiene 13. La abuela de Anthony le regaló un pase anual para su cumpleaños número 11, y desde entonces, lo pide de regalo para sus cumpleaños siguientes. Anthony dijo que lo único que sabe sobre Disneyland es que es un parque de atracciones grande y muy famoso en California.    Well, Disneyland is located in the city of Anaheim, California, within the larger Disneyland Resort complex, which also includes Disney California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District. Did you know that the official address is often cited as 1313 Disneyland Drive, Anaheim, CA 92802? 

History

   How did Disneyland start? Well Disneyland started with Walt Disney’s vision, it was inspired by watching his daughters at a carousel in Griffith Park, he imagine of a magical place for families to play together, leading to its grand opening in Anaheim, California, on July 17, 1955, as the world’s first themed amusement park, while the ABC Television Network provided crucial funding in exchange for a weekly TV show about the park’s creation. The theme park started to be built on 160 acres of former orange groves in Anaheim, California. Walt’s team of Imagineers developed the park’s unique design, creating themed lands like Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Tomorrowland. Construction began in July 1954, with the park opening just over a year later. Did you know that Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck were the first characters to greet guests on Disneyland’s opening day, July 17, 1955? Character Evolution was around the 1960s, as the parks grew and characters became more popular, Disney Imagineers created more detailed and realistic costumes, with more characters introduced as new films were released.

   Do you want to know interesting facts about the famous theme park? Well, to start off, did you know there is a secret apartment above the Main Street Fire Station that was used by Walt Disney and is still maintained? Another interesting fact is that Main Street’s buildings get smaller as you walk toward the castle to make it seem farther away and grander. And lastly, Main Street, U.S.A., was modeled after Walt Disney’s childhood hometown, Marceline, Missouri. 

Interview

   I interviewed a teenage boy who likes going to Disneyland way too often. His name is Anthony Martinez. For the interview, I asked him 3 questions: How old were you when you first went to Disneyland? What do you know about Disneyland? And how often do you go to Disneyland? He responded that he’s been going to Disneyland since he was 11, and he is now 13 years old. Anthony’s grandma gave him a yearly pass on his 11th birthday, and since that day, he has kept asking for it for his following birthdays. Anthony said the only thing he knows about Disneyland is that it’s a big and really famous amusement park in California. Since Anthony has the yearly pass, he tries to go as often as he can with his cousins and grandma, since they are the only ones with a yearly pass. What about you? Have you been to Disneyland before?
