Are you wondering what the new trendy spot is in Anaheim? A place where you can study for your next test and play board games with your friends? Well I know a perfect place to go, The Untold Story Bookstore! They are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am to 7:30pm with the exception of Sundays where they close at 6pm. Recently, they reopened in their new location on Anaheim Blvd.
Coming into this Bookstore sure feels like home, Hailey Sotelo (10th grader at Savanna High School) said, “I think Ms. Barrios’ bookstore has impacted me as a student because I know there is a safe space I can go where I can just access books that I can read and support my community through that.” This bookstore is surely one of the hidden gems in Anaheim. They have had many events such as Open Mic Night or Storytime. Sotelo adds that, “It’s such a safe space as it impacts a bunch of other community members as it is in the heart of Anaheim and is very family-friendly.”
I interviewed the owner and founder Lizzette Barrios Gracian about her inspiration and dream for the bookstore. She explains, “I thought the community needed a safe space where they could come/meet, enjoy literature and art. For the first time we have a bookstore as I believe that bookstores tend to attract the best in a community. It is a perfect place to form a community.”
The story behind this bookstore is truly inspiring. Lizzette truly inspires the younger generation to strive for more, Hailey Sotelo adds on that, “I definitely believe that she [Lizeth Barrios] inspires us to strive for more not just her being a teacher but her as a person. Shell give us ‘consejos’ and say things such as, ‘¡Échale ganas!’”.

Barrios me ha impactado como estudiante porque se que es un espacio seguro donde puedo acceder libros que puedo leer y apoyar a mi comunidad.” Esta librería es sin duda una joya escondida en Anaheim. Han organizado muchos eventos como, Micrófono Abierto o tiempo de cuento. Sotelo añade: “Es un espacio muy seguro que impacta a muchos miembros de la comunidad, ya que está en el corazón de Anaheim y es muy familiar.” Entrevisté a la propietaria y fundadora, Lizzette Barrios Gracian, sobre su inspiración y sueño para esta librería. Ella explica, “Pensé que la comunidad necesitaba un espacio seguro donde pudieran venir, reunirse y disfrutar de la literatura y el arte. Por primera vez tenemos una librería, ya que creo que las librerías suelen atraer a los mejores de la comunidad. Es un lugar perfecto para formar una comunidad.”
