Rev Up Your Engines, the Alumni Are Here for the Annual Classic Car Show
November 5, 2019
The annual classic car show was celebrated on October 19th, and the alumni came with it. This car show has been around for eight years and won’t stop any time soon!
Organizations like Bros, Skills USA, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Anaheim Baseball, Gold, ASB, and Girls Volleyball were here to support and set up the event. Bros President, Santiago Amezcua, said, “We felt it was necessary to help and support our school and the alumni.”
The turnout was sizeable this year, around 350 people attended the car show. Approximately 60 cars participated this year out doing last year. The outcome was more cars than the previous years, said Amezcua. It was Richard Roland’s first time attending; he was showcasing his 1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. He said, “The car show is nice; it’s nice that people are interested in all the cars.” Although he was not an alumnus, he still had an excellent time at the car show.
Alumni keep coming to this event; this year, the winner of one of the awards was Clint stark. Stark was a graduate of the class of 1959, he said to “ carry on the tradition of keeping alumni involved, they did a very fine job, and plenty of gifts and raffles and a lot of clubs were involved.” He also said that “The older we get, the fewer remain of our class, feels good to be in touch with these people.”
The alumni must continue to share and come to the car show. It is what keeps their classes and the Colonist pride alive. The annual classic car show this year was full of cars, food, and clubs. Many school organizations came to support the alumni and their annual classic car show. The alumni and most of the spectators enjoyed the time they spent there. The way things are going, the classic car show is expected to have a more prominent outcome next year. One for the books as the annual classic car show is another success for the colony.

I thought this article was well informed because it talked about the cars. I also think that I should of gone because I thought it was not going to be fun.

I thought this article was pretty good. The parts where it says that the alumni loved being there and that they love going because some that aren’t alumni still enjoyed going.

The person that wrote this article was well informed. He/she gave us enough information to know how it was last year compared to this year.

I actually attended the event and I thought it was really nice seeing that a lot of people went and had fun. You can see the joy in people’s faces as you went walking around the school while looking at the cars and how they communicated with one another and bonded over a car even though they didn’t know eachother.
