End to a Grand Slam
On May 14, Tuesday afternoon Anaheim High School’s softball team competed in their semi-finals game against Nordhoff high school. After a tough and long road of successive games, this game had come to an end.
At the beginning of the game, both teams were fighting a tough battle to see who would get the first home run. At the top of the sixth inning, Nordhoff stepped it up a notch and batted up to score their three home runs. Anaheim´s girls were eager to get back up as pitcher Caroline Rodarte gave it her all to achieve strikeouts. Unfortunately, our girls could not move forward another round as the game ended with a score of 3-0. Our girls were devastated to see that they did not make it to the next round but are willing to come back next year and get further than this year with dedication and competitiveness.
After a tough fight and hardworking season, third base player Melanie Cervantes was invited to attend OC Coaches All-Star Game where the top players of Orange County get recognized for their amazing skills of playing ball. Melanie is the only player in our district to be invited to this event as she represents the pride of Anaheim high school.
