Earlier this week Donald Trump released his 2020 presidential campaign video on his Twitter account. This video showcased several key points of Trump’s current presidential term. Trump also decided to include clips of many democratic figures that lost to him in the last Presidential elections.

President Trump makes constant posts on his twitter account, many of which are responses to other political figures. As the current president, Trump has been using his platform to promote his run in the 2020 presidential election. Trump has an advantage as he already has such a large audience following his every move. The video was posted on Tuesday, April 9 with the caption “Make America Great Again”. The post was a short two-minute video. However, the video was taken down by the Warner Bros. company, claiming copyright infringements on the use of their music in the video.  The Trump campaign used the music from “The Dark Knight Rises” as background music for the video posted. Throughout the video, there were several titles and captions, which were the same font used in “The Dark Knight Rises.” Bryan Otero, a student, had this to say in regards to how the situation was handled. “ I just feel that he was attacked for his name. If it was Biden or another famous democrat they wouldn’t have”

This has not been the first time Trump has been asked to stop using music for his political agenda. Artists that denied him permission to use their music for his campaign include Adele, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Queen, George Harrison, and Luciano Pavarotti. Trump’s 2020 campaign video, within the first three hours after being posted, had about one million views. The Warner Bros. company, however, went as far as to take legal action and was able to get the video removed from Twitter. Due to copyright infringement, the video was no longer available for viewing.
