AHS Girl’s Basketball Team Defeated Against Ramona High School

On March 5th at 7:00 pm AHS and Ramona High School went head to head at the 2019 CIF State Girls Basketball Division 5 Championship.

Nine minutes into the game, the Ramona HS Rams had scored a 2 point field goal. Minutes later Serena Ileleji, a Colonist, scored a 3 pointer making the score Rams-5 and Colonists-3. The score then evened to 5-5 when junior Jayleena Perez scored a 2 point field goal. The first quarter ended with a score of Anaheim-6 and Ramona-14.

 

With the Rams leading the game and three minutes left to halftime, the Colonists called their first time out. A foul by the Rams led to Cierra Bentley, a senior on the Colonist team to score a free throw point for her team.

Halftime soon began and the score was now the Rams-24 and Colonists-16. After a performance by the Lady Rams cheerleaders, the third quarter began with Anaheim having the ball. The game came to an end with a score of Rams-61 and Colonists-43.

AHS girls basketball team had managed to go undefeated up until this game, placing them at the top of their league- making this their best season yet.
