Las deportaciones ya están incrementando más y mucha gente tiene miedo hasta salir afuera para comprar sus necesidades del mercado. Esto es porque tienen miedo que puedan ser deportados. Familias han sido separadas injustamente. También han habido muertes por culpa de ICE solo porque no quieren ser deportadas y dejar sus familias atrás especialmente cuando tienen niños menores.
Ya parece que es una ley que si ICE te ve que eres moreno, hablas español, o si tienes rasgos de ser latino te pueden llevar y te pueden detener. Ya ellos deciden si deportan o no, pero solo si tienes tu tarjeta de residencia te dejan libre. Muchos inmigrantes se sienten muy dolidos y decepcionados porque algunos federales de ICE son latinos. Sus padres son inmigrantes también. Eso es algo que les decepciona porque entienden que es su trabajo pero están causando injusticias. Por eso mucha gente está muy decepcionada de que las deportaciones han afectado mucho nuestra comunidad porque regularmente los inmigrantes son los que contribuyen la fruta y verdura. La mayoría de los inmigrantes vienen a trabajar y no a causar problemas con las otras personas. Mucha gente los humilla por la manera cómo viven y por su lenguaje o en general en cómo son.
Los mismos que son racistas son los que celebran el Cinco de mayo y comen comida mexicana. Pero no quieren a los mexicanos en su país. Siento que son muy injustos y el presidente los hizo de esa manera. No deberíamos tolerar el rasicmo porque es una cosa muy fea para las personas. Esto ha causado que la gente se haya suicidado.
Con todo lo de las deportaciones todo esto va continuar más y más. La verdad no se sabe cuándo esto va a parar. Veo que nuestra comunidad cada vez está más vacía, ya no hay tanta gente en las tiendas por el peligro de correr que ICE los pueda llevar y dejar a sus familias en los Estados Unidos.
Deportations are already increasing more and many people are afraid to even go outside to buy their necessities from the market. This is because they fear they could be deported. Families have been unfairly separated. There have even been deaths because of ICE, simply because they do not want to be deported and leave their families behind, especially when they have young children.
It now seems like a law that if ICE sees that you are dark-skinned, speak Spanish, or have even a trace of being Latino, they can take you and detain you. It is then up to them to decide whether to deport you or not, but if you have your residency card, they let you go free. Many immigrants feel very hurt and disappointed because some federal ICE agents’ parents are also immigrants. That is something that disappoints them because they understand it is their job, but then you can see that they are immigrant parents. That is why many people are very disappointed; deportations have greatly affected our community. Regular immigrants are those who contribute to the fruit and vegetable industry. Many of the immigrants come to work and not to cause problems with other people. Many people humiliate them for the way they live, for their language, or for how they are in general.
The same ones who are racist are the ones who celebrate Cinco de Mayo and eat Mexican food but do not want Mexicans in their country. I feel that this is very unfair, and the president has made them that way. I think we should not tolerate racism because it is a very ugly thing for people. This has caused people to commit suicide.
With all the deportations, this will increase more and more. The truth is not being heard; when will this stop? I see that our community is emptier every day. There aren’t as many people in the stores because of the danger of ICE taking them away and leaving their families in the United States.
